This can't get online fast enough. I guess it's scheduled to start running in 2011, unless they've pushed the date back again. Maybe when people see how efficient solar energy is, the government will make it a priority. Smile

What confuses me a bit... In the photo, doesn't it appear that the panels are pointed in different directions? I wonder if these are automated or something? Home panels are often pointed south for best performance...

Apparently, PG&E's plan isn't a solar energy project here. It's a solar thermal plant that points those mirrors at a boiler to generate steam to spin a turbine.

Really? Hmm, maybe I'm thinking of another Mojave Desert project then. I thought the PG&E part in the story was unfamiliar. Confused
